Seasonal Home & Property Maintenance Checklist
Spot small property problems early, prioritize repairs, and understand when specialist help may be needed.
What to Look For
Walk Your Property
- Check gutters, downspouts, ground drainage, siding, windows and doors for signs of water intrusion.
- Look for loose handrails, damaged steps, deck movement, loose fasteners, or decay.
- Check weatherstripping, obvious drafts and accessible air leaks without blocking needed ventilation.
Keep Moisture Under Control
- Fix leaks at the source before covering a stain or damaged finish.
- Monitor basement and crawl-space moisture and consider professional help if the problem repeats.
- Stop and get professional advice if you suspect a structural, electrical or environmental hazard.
